Need a math tutor? Most of our clients call for math help. In our experience students either love math because they feel comfortable with the concepts and problem solving, or hate math because the concept is not clear and they often come up with the wrong answer. We continually hear “I’m not a math person.” We are saddened to see students at an early age feel they are “bad” at math. One-on-one tutoring is an effective way for students to gain confidence in their math skills. Our goal is to set aside the assumption that math is hard by focusing carefully on understanding the concepts, their math tutor pinpointing where the student begins to struggle, and encouraging students they can do it! Many teens feel ashamed to ask for math help, but often students make only small mistakes or simply are not comfortable solving problems because they have not practiced enough. Our Larimer and Boulder tutors are able to provide plenty of additional practice problems and tests, which can help alleviate a distaste for math due to test anxiety. We consider mathematics an essential part of reasonable thinking and encourage all of our students to treat math as they would any other subject.
